ArchivalResource

Samuel Bemis papers, 1858-1861.

Papers related to Samuel Bemis' application to be Superintendent of the U.S. Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts. Several of the letters are written from Hartford, Connecticut. Includes a small broadside canvassing for Bemis' election to Congress from the 10th Congressional District of Massachusetts. An insurance policy, written for the Willimantic Manufacturing Co. by the Manufacturers' Mutual Fire Insurance Company in 1838 is also included, but seems to have little relation to the rest of the collection.
